Terms of Service

These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your access to and use of SelectiveHQ (the “Service”), operated by SelectiveHQ (“we”, “us”, “our”). By accessing or using the Service, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

The Service is intended to help students prepare for Victorian Selective Entry High School exams. If you are under 18, you may use the Service only with the consent and supervision of a parent or guardian, who agrees to these Terms on your behalf and is responsible for your use of the Service.

You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account and for all activity that occurs under it.

You sign in to the Service using a Google account. You agree to provide accurate information and to keep it up to date. We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms or are used in a way that harms the Service or other users.

• The Service uses a virtual “coin” balance to access certain features. Coins have no cash value, are not redeemable for money, and are non-transferable.
• You may purchase coins as one-off bundles or through a recurring subscription. All payments are processed by Stripe and are quoted in the currency shown at checkout.
• Subscriptions renew automatically each billing period until cancelled. You may cancel at any time; cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period and you retain access until then.
• Prices and coin amounts may change. Changes will not affect purchases already made.

Except where required by the Australian Consumer Law, purchases of coins and subscription fees are generally non-refundable once the coins have been credited to your account. Nothing in these Terms excludes, restricts, or modifies any consumer guarantee, right, or remedy you have under the Australian Consumer Law that cannot lawfully be excluded.

You agree not to:

• Use the Service for any unlawful purpose or in breach of these Terms.
• Copy, scrape, resell, or redistribute our content or questions without permission.
• Attempt to gain unauthorised access to the Service, other accounts, or our systems.
• Interfere with or disrupt the integrity or performance of the Service.
• Share your account or coins for commercial resale.

All content on the Service — including practice questions, curriculum materials, text, graphics, logos, and software — is owned by or licensed to SelectiveHQ and is protected by intellectual property laws. We grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to use the content for your own personal, non-commercial exam preparation.

SelectiveHQ is an independent study aid. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or connected to the Victorian Department of Education, the Victorian Curriculum and Assessment Authority (VCAA), Edutest, or any selective entry school.

Our practice materials are designed to resemble the style and content of selective entry exams but are not actual exam papers. We do not guarantee any particular result, score, or admission outcome. Exam preparation is one of many factors that affect performance.

We aim to keep the Service available but do not guarantee uninterrupted access. We may modify, suspend, or discontinue any part of the Service at any time, including features and content.

To the maximum extent permitted by law, the Service is provided “as is” and “as available” without warranties of any kind. To the extent permitted by law, we will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential loss arising from your use of the Service.

Where the Australian Consumer Law implies guarantees that cannot be excluded, our liability is limited (where permitted) to re-supplying the relevant service or paying the cost of having it re-supplied.

You may stop using the Service and request deletion of your account at any time. We may suspend or terminate your access if you breach these Terms. Provisions that by their nature should survive termination will continue to apply.

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Victoria, Australia. You submit to the non-exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Victoria and the Commonwealth of Australia.

We may update these Terms from time to time. We will post changes on this page and update the “Last updated” date above. Continued use of the Service after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
