What’s covered today
Victoria, NSW, Queensland, South Australia and Western Australia are covered, with deeper information for secondary schools and basic primary profiles. A record may represent a school or an individual campus; totals should not be interpreted as counts of unique institutions.
Public coverage: NSW directory coverage currently includes government schools. NSW non-government records from the restricted research source, local-only year-level supplements and VCAA result workbooks are excluded from this public edition pending suitable publication permissions or replacement sources.
The latest discovery pass attempted 2,091 websites and collected 12,235 pages. Scholarship schemes and assessment-provider listings are recorded for 159 school/campus records; numeric tuition is recorded for 67. School-published information, provider listings, closed rounds and unknown application details are distinguished.
“Not yet verified” and “not yet researched” mean that we do not have reliable information here. They never mean “not offered”. Academic ranks compare recorded results for the same measure and year; they do not infer academic quality from demographics.
School size & language background
Enrolments and LBOTE are sourced from ACARA’s 2025 School Profile and state education datasets. Figures carry their own reporting year, measure and source. Headcount, full-time-equivalent enrolments and WA’s reported primary/full-time-secondary count are distinct measures. Unknown and suppressed values are excluded from numerical filters.
| State | Enrolment data | LBOTE data |
|---|---|---|
| VIC | 2297 | 2218 |
| NSW | 2174 | 2169 |
| QLD | 1907 | 1760 |
| SA | 584 | 572 |
| WA | 1130 | 1116 |
Counts refer to school/campus records, not unique institutions. Some multi-campus schools share a whole-school profile. NSW’s live master dataset does not explicitly identify the reference year of several indicators, so we label those years unconfirmed rather than using the extraction date. State enrolment observations range from 2020–2026; the latest available varies by school.
LBOTE describes language background at home, not English proficiency. ICSEA and SEA describe socio-educational context and are not academic rankings. Source: Australian Curriculum, Assessment and Reporting Authority (ACARA). © ACARA.
Coverage by searchable field
Secondary and combined records, excluding boundary-only entries. A count means at least one recorded fact; it does not mean a complete school profile.

Still incomplete: full scholarship eligibility, every intake date, compulsory extras, detailed subject lists, transport, specific learning support and admissions capacity. Missing facts never mean a school does not offer something.
The crawl visited each homepage and up to nine linked pages. 148 sites returned no usable pages. This is broad discovery, not an exhaustive review of all school publications.
Academic results and rankings
Filter by results year, minimum score or top rank, and sort by the selected measure. Equal values share a rank. Ranks use all recorded results for that state, measure and year before other filters. They are dataset ranks, not official statewide league tables. Unknown and suppressed results are excluded; small cohorts are flagged.
VCAA’s 2025 workbook provides VCE median study score, percentage of study scores of 40+ and satisfactory completion. It is available in local research mode and excluded from public responses. The local NSW dataset includes an initial eight schools with school-published HSC results. Median ATAR, ATAR 90+ and course success rate are kept separate; combined HSC/IB medians are excluded.
School-level NAPLAN scores have not been loaded. ACARA supplies these on application; the public profile file contains demographics, not NAPLAN results. NAPLAN filters stay unavailable until verified data is supplied. ICSEA is not an academic score.
Sector and religious affiliation
Government, Catholic and Independent are directory sectors. A school can be Independent and Christian, Jewish, Islamic or secular. Religious affiliation and denomination are separate sourced fields. Catholic-sector records establish Catholic affiliation; other affiliations come from reviewed school/operator statements or Queensland’s directory filters. Unknown does not mean non-religious. Private means non-government here; “semi-private” is not an official sector and does not reliably describe fees or government funding.
Scholarships, programs and school publications
Reviewed school websites supply scholarship schemes and fee schedules. Date-only closing dates are labelled without an invented time. Unknown intake years do not match a specific-year filter. A provider listing verifies assessment participation, not the value or terms of an award.

SEAL filters include 34 TAASS-listed schools and Richmond High’s school-announced 2027 program. Reviewed school pages add entry requirements, dates and assessment fees where published. NSW’s official list supplies 89 opportunity-class providers with 2027 places, plus 598 matched Aurora host schools. Nine unmatched host entries remain under review. Host locations and OC providers are separate filters; Aurora’s places are shared, not allocated to every host school.

IB candidate programmes marked with an asterisk in the source are excluded. Confirm current campus provision and authorisation with the school.
Directory sources
South Australia · September 2026
524 government school/service records from the Department for Education and 112 Independent school/campus profiles from AISSA. Private coverage is partial: the Catholic directory and eight unavailable AISSA profiles are not included. Independent-school coordinates are not yet verified; these profiles appear in results but have no map marker.
All three Ignite providers are recorded, alongside department-listed specialist programs. The 721 zone records cover published 2026 and 2027 primary and grade-specific secondary boundaries. Hidden polygons and non-zone priority areas are excluded; unzoned schools need confirmation through the official finder.
Department for Education, Government of South Australia, school directory and School Zone Finder, sourced 29 September 2026. Original boundary geometry retained; program descriptions are our factual summaries.
Western Australia · September 2026
1,132 school records from the Department of Education’s all-sector Schools List, dated 29 September 2026 (CC BY 4.0), with coordinates, addresses, telephone numbers and published year ranges. Kindergarten-only records and the Christmas/Cocos Islands schools are excluded. The directory’s 319 non-government records are labelled as such; Catholic versus Independent status and religion remain unverified.
All 24 physical Gifted and Talented providers are included: 16 academic, six arts and two languages schools. Approved Specialist Programs have separate filters and school-run admissions. WA local intake polygons are not loaded; government profiles link to Schools Online.
Scholarship coverage in both new states remains partial. Individually reviewed school offers are distinguished from ACER assessment listings; an assessment year does not establish an entry year. No SA or WA numeric NAPLAN or senior results have been added.

Some names appear only in boundary releases, without a matching directory record. We retain these clearly labelled records so their zones remain searchable, but do not invent a school location or assume they are open.
VIC polygons come from the Department of Education’s 2026 and 2027 school-zone releases (CC BY 4.0). NSW polygons come from the September 2026 intake-area download (Creative Commons Attribution). Geometry is converted to GeoJSON; original boundaries are retained for point matching.
NSW 2027 is partial. Only explicit future boundaries are included. Current boundaries are not silently reused as confirmed 2027 boundaries. Check NSW School Finder even if our map finds no match.
Catchment membership is not a promise of admission. Selective streams, specialist settings, shared areas, residency requirements and school-specific rules need confirmation. Use these datasets for school enrolment research, not property-purchase decisions.
Your shortlist and privacy
Saved schools and notes are stored in our PostgreSQL database and associated with a random browser cookie. Clearing that cookie removes access from that browser. There are no accounts, emails or cross-device sync yet. Export your notes to keep a separate copy.
